A 3-year-old girl named Julia wandered away from her home in Poland on a dark, frigid night. For hours, more than 250 firefighters, police officers, rescue workers and residents searched for the missing child. They also employed a police helicopter with infrared cameras and six search dogs to look for the girl after she wandered off into the forest near her village.
Miraculously, Julia made it through the night — all thanks to a dog who kept her warm. Firefighters found Julia lying in a nearby marshland with the dog by her side!
Julia's grandmother immediately recognized the black dog as Julia's best friend, though it wasn't her official pet. From what it seems, the dog was a stray who bonded with the little girl and the two became inseparable.
Julia was treated for frostbite and released from the hospital. Police authorities credit the hero dog for saving Julia's life.
We’ve seen the great lengths our pets will go to to make sure we’re safe and sound, and this story is no exception. I have a feeling these two will share a bond that lasts a lifetime.
