Humiliated Mom Hits Back After Agent Forces Her To Dump Breast Milk Before Boarding Plane

Every new mom knows that breastfeeding or pumping breast milk is a deeply personal activity. The milk is a part of a mom and is the substance that connects her and her baby. Most women who have given birth will agree that breast milk should be handled with respect because of its purpose.

Unfortunately, because it's a liquid, many airports will treat it the same as any other, like water or juice. One mom found this out the hard way when five days' worth of her breast milk was confiscated before boarding a plane at the U.K.'s Heathrow Airport.

Katie Langan was horrified and humiliated when all 10 bags were handled by an agent before she was forced to throw them away because they exceeded the limit of liquids allowed to take on a plane, and because she did not have her 1-year-old daughter Layla with her.

Now, the mother is hitting back, claiming that this rule is absolutely absurd, and is calling for other moms to join her and share their stories, too.

Katie Langan was mortified when 10 bags carrying five days' worth of her breast milk were confiscated by agents at London's Heathrow Airport.

Katie was coming back from a short vacation with friends. She had pumped breast milk and stored it in the bags for her 1-year-old daughter, Layla.

She says that the man handled her breast milk "like it was dog food."

The airport claimed that the amount of breast milk Katie attempted to bring on board exceeded the amount allowed on a plane.

The mom says that she'd never had a problem before. Apparently, whether or not she had her child with her made a difference in how she was treated.

Now, she's hoping that her story will reach other breastfeeding moms as a warning of what can happen. She's also calling for the rules to be changed so that women like her can travel comfortably.
