Ida Keeling Sets The 100 Meter World Record For The 100+ Age Group

At the tender age of 67, Ida Keeling dove head first into the world of track and field, after her daughter signed her up for one race. She'd never participated in the sport before then, but she's literally made history since.

This woman is truly an inspiration if I've ever laid eyes on one. Coming up on her 101st birthday, she is still kicking stronger than many people half her age. She takes great care of her body, and continues to move forward with a positive attitude every single day.

As she gets ready to race against folks two decades her junior, she knows that it's highly unlikely that she's going to cross that line first. Besides, that's not what her goal is. Her goal is to keep doing her personal best, and to show herself and everyone else that if you take care of yourself, you can accomplish wonderful, amazing things.

As the crowd cheers Keeling down the track after everyone else has crossed the finish line, they've also got their eyes on the clock. Is she really going to do it? Is she going to break the another world record, as she already holds the 60-meter-dash record for those between ages 95 and 99?

Yep, this real life wonder woman does it at 1 minute and 17.33 seconds. If you think that's long, you talk to me when you turn 100!

After the race, she did a few pushups for the crowd, and her daughter hinted at a potential late-in-life weightlifting career. I have a feeling this is not the last we've seen of Ida Keeling!
