Around this time of the year, many high school students are preparing themselves for the ultimate party of their teenage experience: prom night. The students at Tulare Western High School in Tulare, California, are no different.
For Dylan Tapia, a student at Tulare Western, getting a prom date wouldn't be as simple as just asking.
For his chosen date, only the best "promposal" would suffice!
So, this past Tuesday, in front of a crowd of Tulare students, Dylan sprang his surprise promposal.
The girl he hoped would say yes? Ivory Renteria, a special-needs student at the school. Dylan is very good friends with the Renteria family and knew she was the one.
The idea for the promposal came when Ivory's mom mentioned in passing how nice it would be if someone were to ask her to prom, particularly in the way so many promposals have been performed across the United States.
Dylan decided to surprise Ivory.
In the video below, Ivory walks down a path on their campus when a crowd forms, calling her name.
Standing on the path is Dylan, holding a dark sign.
Ivory runs forward, takes the sign from his hand, glances at the message written on it, and completely flips out!
She starts jumping up and down, and is eventually so overcome with emotion she is brought to tears!
