Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are continuing to show each other support amidst their divorce. Recently, rumors sprouted that Kanye was consulting with Kim on the rebranding of KKW Cosmetics. Now Kim is supporting Kanye as he debuts new music.
On July 22, Kanye gathered with collaborators and fans for a listening party for his 10th studio album, DONDA. Though the rollout around the album happened pretty quickly, fans have been awaiting this album since before his ninth album, Jesus Is King. Fans are expecting an emotional record, as the album is named after Kanye's mother, who died in 2008.
Some fans took note that Kim, who was there with her children as well as sister Khloé Kardashian, and Kanye were matching in red outfits.
Kim Kardashian is showing her support for Kanye West in the middle of their divorce. Kim was joined by their four children and sister Khloé Kardashian at the listening party for Kanye's 10th studio album on Thursday. The album, DONDA, is named after Kanye's late mother, Donda West.
Kim wore a red jumpsuit with matching boots, matching Kanye's all-red outfit, which may be from his Yeezy GAP collection.
This album seems like it will be an emotional one for Kanye, who has struggled with his mental health in recent years. In a 2019 interview with David Letterman, Kanye talked about how his mother would have loved getting to know her grandchildren.
"This would have been the funnest time of her life," he said.
"To have those kids running around that house, and being able to, like, go and buy them toys."
The album's artwork is a painting by artist Louise Bourgeois. Louise, who died in 2010, was known for working through the death of her mother in her art. Mothers were a main figure in her work, among other motifs.
It's expected that Kanye will talk about some heavy themes on the album, but no one suspects any shots at his ex. Sources connected to both sides say that Kanye and Kim are in a good place and committed to co-parenting their kids.
The album has a number of exciting features as well. There are spoken word interludes in the voice of Donda West. The most exciting feature for fans at the listening party was one by Jay-Z, reuniting the two for the first time in years and hyping fans for a possible second collaborative album. Others include fellow Kardashian-family member Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, and Pusha T.
