Marriage is a great institution if both partners are willing to put in the work to make it so. It is not always easy. Mark was very jealous at the beginning of their relationship. It was something he had to learn to work through. For her part, Kelly gave Mark the silent treatment when she was upset, which was her toxic trait. The couple laughs about these flaws now because they were able to get past them.

Kelly revealed Mark’s biggest flaw. "My biggest complaint about you over the course of our marriage — and this is not recent, 'cause it definitely changed, and I don't know if I changed or if you changed or if it was some combination of change — but you used to be insanely jealous," Kelly explained. "And that was a hard pill to swallow. It's very hard being married to somebody who is jealous. … It's unattractive.”

Mark agreed. "Look, at age 25, I was pretty insane. But that jealousy thing definitely followed me for a while. I'm not jealous anymore. … It's a character flaw. It's ugly,” he said.

He went on to reveal his biggest complaint about Kelly. "You haven't done this in such a long time, but when you're pissed off on the phone, you hang up," Mark said. "Sometimes if the person's like, let's say, in Vancouver, and you don't pick up the phone in a day, a day and a half, it's quite unsettling." Kelly admitted she did this because that’s how her family communicated when she was growing up.

Today Mark and Kelly’s marriage is solid because they were able to work through their differences. "It always gets better," mused Mark. "If you communicate and talk it through, literally, there's nothing that's insurmountable."

Soon they will add another layer to their partnership as they become coworkers. Mark is taking over for Ryan Seacrest on Live.
