The ongoing drama over whether Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will attend the coronation continues. There was an interesting development during a recent walkabout during which King Charles mingled with royal onlookers at the University of East London’s Stratford campus.
One subject asked the king, “Can you bring back Harry?” as Charles was shaking hands with other people. Charles responded by saying, “Who?” It is unknown whether Charlies misheard the person or was attempting to crack a joke. He then laughed off the situation and continued on with his royal duties.
The British royal family’s typical response is not to respond on personal family issues. They seem to believe that they can ride out the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle situation. The Sussexes, for their part, continue to want their side of the story to be heard. To accomplish this goal, they released a Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan. Harry also wrote a tell-all memoir, Spare.
King Charles’ coronation is looming. It is scheduled for May 6, 2023. Official invitations have not gone out yet, and the world continues to speculate on whether or not Harry and Meghan will or should attend.
Prince Harry has not publicly committed either way about the coronation. He seems to have conditions that need to be met before he makes up his mind.
“There’s a lot that can happen between now and then. But, the door is always open. The ball is in their court. There’s a lot to be discussed and I really hope that they’re willing to sit down and talk about it,” he said to ITV.
