16-Year-Old Qualifies For 2016 Summer Olympics With Incredible Balance Beam Routine

We've arrived, folks: the torch for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games will be lit in less than a month. All of the world's greatest athletes will arrive wearing their country's colors, ready to compete for their country's honor and glory.

We've all got our favorite events to watch. There's the thrill of the high dive, the extreme aspect of BMX biking, the pizzaz of synchronized swimming, and everything in between. Even if this is the only time every four years that you care about sports, you somehow get sucked into the whirlwind of it all.

One of the move beloved sports on the roster, though, is gymnastics. Some of the greatest Olympian stories have sprung from this event, with young women pushing through immense pain in the name of their country. Last Olympics, we all fell in love with the Fierce Five, but this year, we've got another dream team.

This weekend, the final Olympic trials were held in San Jose, CA, and the final team was announced.

Simone Biles took the top spot, but just two points behind her was Laurie Hernandez. This 16-year-old powerhouse closed out the competition with one almost flawless balance beam routine. When it's time to dismount? Biles, Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas, and Madison Kocian (her fellow 2016 Olympic team) were all on the edge of their seats…
