Sometimes an act of kindness can come from the most unexpected of places.
This video story shared by Wonderbot on YouTube tells the tale of a young boy whose single mother was in a coma. He had no one at home to make him a packed lunch for school and mysteriously found his lunch box filled with food every day.
Every day, 10-year-old Stuart would beg his grandmother to not make him go to school with an empty lunch box. His mother, Jane, had been in an accident three months before, and even though they had hopes she would eventually recover, the family was struggling financially.
“I’m tired of pretending I’m not hungry when I am,” Stuart protested each morning to his grandmother, Edith. He didn’t want someone “playing pranks” on him at school and hiding food in his empty lunch box anymore.
During this difficult time period with additional medical bills and loans, all they could afford was food for breakfast and dinner. A lot of Stuart’s classmates came to notice that he routinely told others that he wasn’t hungry during lunchtime.
One day, Stuart decided to act like he was going out to spend some time in the school’s grotto area, but what he really wanted to do was keep watch and finally discover who was putting food in his lunch bag.
When he came back inside and investigated his lunch box, he found a full lunch with a sandwich and grapes inside. He looked around at his fellow classmates to see if anyone else was eating a sandwich.
He spotted his good friend, Catherine, on a bench behind him eating a similar-looking sandwich. Another classmate named Gareth was eating grapes nearby.
