In news that is the stuff of actual nightmares, a man has been arrested after allegedly living under a teen's bed for weeks and sexually assaulting her. Jaret Wright is the 20-year-old Ohio man who is accused of raping the teenage girl, as well as taking nude photos of her — all while living under her bed.
Wright has been charged with three counts of rape and one count of producing child pornography, jail records show.
It's a deeply disturbing incident, but what's even more unsettling is that the two apparently met on Instagram before he moved in and lived under her bed for around three weeks.
The situation is downright terrifying. Wright allegedly held the teen down and forced her to have sex with him during the time he was living in her room. He also took nude pictures of her.
The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office stated that the girl was between 13 and 18 years old.
The girl was obviously terrified of the man. She knew he was living there, but her mother did not. But as soon as her mother discovered him, she called police and had him arrested.
Wright has been charged with three counts of rape and one count of producing child pornography. But there are so many questions that remain. It's unclear right now if he forced himself into the home or if the girl invited him in, and exactly what the relationship was between the two.
It's also unclear whether the man remained in the girl's room and under her bed at all times, or if he ever left. It's unimaginable to think that he was there for so many days without being discovered. Luckily, his time in the home came to an end.
Many people on Twitter are wondering how he wasn't discovered sooner. Whenever a traumatic event like this occurs, people are quick to blame parents. While it is certainly a lesson in paying close attention, there is much we don't yet know about the case.
Wright was supposed to appear in court on Tuesday and was being held on a $50,000 bond. However, so far there are no further updates. It is not clear if he has entered a plea, and attorney information for Wright is not yet available.
