Childbirth is a joyful event, but its unpredictability can be stressful. Although expectant parents hope for a healthy baby and an easy delivery, there’s just no way to know how these things will turn out. Even with modern medical technology, sometimes nature takes over.
This is exactly what happened to a Michigan mom who delivered her baby in the back of a Chevy Impala on the way to the hospital!
Sara Suchodolski and her boyfriend Trevor were at home with their toddler Mila when the mom went into labor. They started driving to the hospital, but halfway there, Sara knew she was running out of time.
How would she find the strength to deliver her own baby? Sara was especially scared because she'd had severe complications during her labor with Mila.
Realizing she had no choice, Sara let nature take over and started pushing. She gave birth 10 minutes from the hospital with her toddler strapped into a car seat next to her.
Maci Vallari Prime is a healthy baby girl! She weighed in at 6 lbs., 15 oz., and her birth records state her place of birth as “en route to Covenant Medical Center." Great job, Sara!
With such a dramatic birth story, we can only imagine what little Maci will accomplish in life! No matter what her future holds, Maci has her brave, quick-thinking mom to thank for everything!
