Next to baseball, football is America's most favorite sport. Watching some of the leanest and meanest guys on the gridiron is a spectacle that just about everyone can appreciate.
These fierce competitors go through a lot of training and a lot of hard work to make it to the professional level, sometimes making millions and millions of dollars every year to participate in the sport they love.
So when it comes time to thank the country that loves them so much, it's very important to a lot of the coaches that the men on their team give the proper respect to that country in the proper way.
While a lot of time is spent figuring out good offensive plays and strong defensive layouts, Los Angeles Rams Head Coach Jeff Fisher wants to make sure that his crew knows the proper way to stand at attention during the National Anthem, which plays before the start of every single game.
In a clip from a pre-season training session, Fisher let his team know just how important it is, and how much it means to give that flag the respect it deserves. "National anthem… It's a respect thing. It's a self-respect thing. It's a respect for your teammates. It's a respect for this game. It's a respect for this country… It's an opportunity to realize how lucky you are…" he passionately said to the whole team as they watched the tape.
A lot of men died to defend that flag and the rights it holds; the least we can all do is say "thank you."
Take a look at just how important it is to Fisher, and be proud of the men on his team who refuse to disrespect the country which gives them so much.
