Glen and Amy McKey recently got married at their gorgeous ranch in Australia. After exchanging their vows and gathering their wedding party for some pictures, the photographer asked Glen and Amy to take their palomino horse and head up to the hillside for some dreamy snapshots. (Glen works as a professional horse trainer, so it was only fitting that the couple's horse took part in their big day.)
But just as they were walking along the ridge, hand in hand and breathing in a sigh of relief that everything was going so smoothly, the newlyweds' photo shoot was rudely interrupted.
Glen and Amy turned around to see none other than a massive bull charging at them from behind…
"R-R-R-U-U-U-N-N-N!"
Glen pulled out all the stops to properly pop the question to his girlfriend, Amy.
The proposal involved Glen landing a helicopter in their garden, then taking Amy on a romantic flight.
Glen is a professional horse trainer, and Amy shares in his passion for everything equine.
So it made perfect sense to include their beloved horses on their big day.
Aleesha Aldis-Friedrichs, owner of Boundless Imagery, was on hand to snap photos of the couple's wedding.
Glen and Amy got married on their gorgeous ranch in New South Wales, Australia, on September 29, 2018.
The ceremony went off without a hitch.
After exchanging their vows, Amy and Glen went to take their first official wedding photos as husband and wife.
The photographer asked the newlyweds to venture out to the hill's ridge with their palomino horse.
She had a feeling it would be the perfect setup for the dreamiest wedding picture imaginable.
The photographer was able to get some truly idyllic wedding photos of Amy, Glen, and their horse.
The newlyweds were able to take a few moments to enjoy the stunning views and relish in their postnuptial bliss.
Everything was so calm and relaxing.
Until they heard the sound of a giant creature…
While walking back down the hill, the couple and their horse were interrupted by a bull charging at them from behind!
Amy grabbed her dress and started to run, the white fabric billowing behind her.
"The bull got a bit closer and then my horse tried pulling away because it got a fright and I just had to get out of the way because it chased us," Glen told Caters.
"With Amy in her white dress, the bull probably didn't know what was happening. It had never seen someone in a wedding dress in the paddock before so it was all new to it."
Thankfully, the bull — who was running in a straight line and gunning for them — stopped when he realized Amy, Glen, and the horse were retreating.
The bull was accompanied by a heifer, who was down the hill and out of the frame.
Photographer Aleesha Aldis-Friedrichs said, "I was laughing so hard behind the camera — I'm so surprised it stayed straight because I was laughing."
"It's absolutely the best photo I've ever taken at a wedding — the most memorable."
"It made the wedding day. Everyone thought it was good — so funny.
"Although most of the people at the wedding didn't actually know it happened because they were drinking beer."
Aleesha, the photographer, has had to assure commenters that the photos were not Photoshopped — and she says she has a video to prove it.
Glen and Amy plan to hang two photos from their wedding shoot on their wall for a nice sequence — one picture before the bull interrupted and one during the big chase.
"The bull chasing us made the day," Glen says.
"And I think it's a great photo — you'll never get one like that again."
