Nick Cannon is ready to pump the brakes on building his family.
The actor/TV personality has made a lot of public statements in the last few years as his family boomed from three kids to seven, soon to be eight (with more possible children rumored). As he awaits his eighth child, this one with girlfriend Bre Tiesi, he admits he thinks it's time to slow down on adding to his family.
In a conversation with E! News, Nick revealed that he's exploring getting a vasectomy. He's not ruling out more kids in future, but he does want to make sure he has plenty of time for the little ones he has.
Nick Cannon loves his big and unusual family and is looking to cherish his time with them. He's father to 11-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey, 5-year-old Golden and 16-month-old Powerful Queen with ex Brittany Bell, 10-month-old twins Zion and Zillion with ex Abby De La Rosa, and deceased son Zen with ex Alyssa Scott. Bre Tiesi will give birth to his eighth child sometime this summer.
"I don't know if I would've designed it this way, but it's one of those things when you're blessed with the gifts of children — and as we all know, I've been through so much, I find solace, I find peace in my children and I find purpose," Nick shared on E! News' Daily Pop.
"So, I'm not out here looking."
Then he revealed he's actually taking some contraceptive steps.
"I already went and got my vasectomy consultation," Nick said. "I ain't looking to populate the Earth completely, but I'm definitely looking forward to taking care and loving all the children that I currently have."
Spending time with the kids is a full-time job in itself, but he has mastered it.
"I do have the guilt of not having enough time to spend with all of my children, as we all do because we're working and constantly going," he shared.
"Especially right now when they're younger. We was doing little league with my 5-year-old [Golden Cannon] this weekend. We got swim practice this week. I take my kids to school every morning. I FaceTime. Two weeks ago, [twins Moroccan and Monroe Cannon, 11] had their birthday party. We shut down Six Flags."
Nick also helps his kids pursue their interests in music and art. He says even though they're young, he thinks some of that artistic talent is definitely in each of his kids.
"You definitely gonna see some Cannons on the screen and hear their music," he joked.
"I'm going to have to recoup some of this. So they gonna be some talented babies."
Nick's discussion of focusing on his family comes amid rumors that he has other women who are expecting his children. There are rumors that Alyssa Scott, whom he shared Zen with, is pregnant, as well as model Lanisha Cole and Nick's musical collaborator, Jessica White. He didn't comment directly on any of these rumors, but it may be his way of dismissing them.
