When 7-year-old Brady Gose found out that picture day was coming up, he was excited to show off his absolute favorite sweater to his whole class.
While the gray sweater may look a little dull, it turns out that, for the past 60 years, it's been handed down from father-to-son for one incredible reason: school photo day!
Every single boy in the family has worn this sweater in their pictures; back in 1954, Brady's great-uncle wore it for the first time, and then four years later, Brady's grandfather sported it for his school picture.
But then, in 1982, Brady's dad Chuck wore the sweater for his school picture, too! What started out as a silly joke between brothers in the '50s has turned into a family tradition. Even though Chuck was only 7 at the time, he made a solemn promise that his son would wear the gray sweater in his yearbook photo!
So, 57 years after his grandfather took the photo, little Brady proudly said "cheese!" while keeping up the tradition.
While the Gose family doesn't know when the next school picture will be taken with the sweater, they'll all certainly do their best to keep the garment safe. Boy or girl, the next Gose who takes a photo will certainly be wearing the gray vintage sweater of their great-grandfather!
7-Year-Old Brady Gose was excited for his first grade class' picture day!
He was especially looking forward to wearing this gray sweater!
33 Years ago, his father Chuck wore the sweater!
And 24 years before that, his grandfather wore it for his first grade picture day!
Over the past 60 years, five of the Gose males have worn this vintage sweater for their first grade school photos. And hopefully Brady will keep up with this cool tradition!
