For the entirety of their young lives, two sisters in India had been blind, until a 15-minute surgery let them see for the very first time.
Victims of their impoverished circumstances, 12-year-old Sonia and 6-year-old Anita were born blind and would have never escaped their fate of being beggars, until an amazing organization heard their sad story. The girls' father could work day and night and still never be able to afford the surgery to change his daughters' fate.
The nonprofit 20/20/20 stepped in to performed surgeries, which cost only $300 in charitable donations for both girls. Now, these young sisters have the opportunity to educate themselves, work, start a family and live freely. The first time these girls can see their surroundings is truly incredible.
