Leaving her performance review, the last thing teacher Sara Trigero expected to see was her boyfriend, Dallin Knecht, standing with her class of preschoolers.
“I did a double take when I saw Dallin standing there,” Sara told People. “Then, I actually read the sign saying, ‘Sara say yes,’ and immediately started tearing up as I walked toward him and my students!”
For weeks, Dallin Knecht had been coordinating with Sara's coworkers, students, and even a photographer to capture the moment. After all, you only get one shot at popping the big question!
Dallin's proposal was everything Sara could have hoped for and more. Surrounded by her students and the man of her dreams, she was in a place of ultimate bliss.
"Seeing [my students] there with the love of my life was so special," Sara said.

For weeks, Dallin secretly made plans behind his girlfriend Sara's back to set up the ultimate proposal.
Dallin coordinated with Sara's coworkers and preschool students and even hired a photographer to capture the special moment.
On the day of the proposal, Sara thought that she was going to a performance review, but really, it was all a ruse set up by Dallin.
"I did think it was a little fishy when my boss didn’t address anything about my actual performance for the whole meeting and just chitchatted and gave me a book,” Sara told People.
When she walked out of her "performance review," Sara was shocked to find Dallin, along with her class of preschoolers, holding up a banner that read "Sara say yes."
“I did a double take when I saw Dallin standing there," Sara said. “Then, I actually read the sign saying, ‘Sara say yes,’ and immediately started tearing up as I walked toward him and my students!”
“Dallin got on one knee. He told me that after our first date, he knew I was going to be the girl he married,” Sara said.
Before Dallin could propose, he told Sara that he needed some help from her students, who all shouted in unison: "Sara, say yes!"
Luckily, Sara knew to dress well for the big day — since a coworker had told her that photographer Lauren Guffrey would be there to take "teacher photos."
Thankfully, Sara said yes, and the couple is aiming to have their ceremony in the summer of 2019.
“I love my students so much. Every day, I’m excited to see them and spend time with them,” Sara said. “Seeing them there with the love of my life was so special!”
