Prince George Is Following In Grandma Princess Diana’s Footsteps With His New Hobby

Prince William revealed that his 5-year-old son, Prince George, is taking dance classes — and loving it. In that way, he takes after his late grandmother, Princess Diana, who also took dance when she was younger.

Last Monday, the Duke of Cambridge met with the Radio Teen 1 Heroes finalists at a reception held at Kensington Palace. One inspirational teen, Junior, is a dancer who campaigns against bullying. William had a few words for him about how much George enjoys dancing.

"George is doing dancing as well; he loves it," Prince William told Junior.

"My mother always used to dance; she loved dancing," he added.

William then encouraged the teen to continue pursuing dance no matter what.

"If it's something you love, you do what you love. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. Keep at it."

Princess Diana's love for dance went slightly under the radar; it certainly isn't what she's most remembered for now. But the Princess of Wales shined onstage — and now her grandson will, too!

At a recent reception for inspirational teens at Kensington Palace, Prince William spoke to a young dancer named Junior.

William revealed that his 5-year-old son Prince George has a new favorite hobby.

Like his grandmother Princess Diana, George has already started taking dance classes.

And like Princess Diana, George really enjoys it. He "loves it," Prince William revealed.

George began taking ballet classes as part of his school curriculum during his first year of school at Thomas's Battersea.

The class is required by all first-year pupils. A live pianist accompanies each weekly 35-minute lesson.

Prince William didn't specify which type of dance George is loving. Does he still take ballet at school? Does he love it? Does he take another type of dance outside of school now because that's how much he loves it?

It's not totally clear. Regardless, William is proud of his son's love of dance, which is absolutely adorable.

Princess Diana isn't especially known for her love of dance, but it was one of her beloved hobbies. She once performed a jazz and ballet routine to the tune of "Uptown Girl" in a private performance that was later leaked.

She also danced with John Travolta at a White House gala in 1985. The two spun around the dance floor for nearly 15 minutes!

The Princess of Wales also took dance classes when she was younger, just like George.

The princess, who tragically died 21 years ago this year, would have certainly been just as proud of George as Prince William is.

After gushing about his son's dancing, Prince William went on to encourage the teen dancer to continue doing what he loves.

Sage advice. Now, when will we get to see a photo of Prince George dancing?!
