Meghan Markle is easing back into life in the public eye. It's been only seven weeks since Meghan gave birth to her and Prince Harry's first child, Archie. The duchess has been spotted out and about only twice. The first time was when Harry and Meghan introduced baby Archie to the world at St. George's Chapel. The second was for Trooping the Colour in celebration of Queen Elizabeth. This weekend, Harry and Meghan stepped out for appearance No. 3.
The couple went to the London Series, where the New York Yankees took on the Boston Red Sox in support of Harry's charity, the Invictus Games. Harry founded the Invictus Games in 2014 in support of wounded service members. The goal is to use sports as a means to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation, and generate a wider appreciation for these service members.
It was lovely to see Harry and Meghan out in support of the cause. It's especially sweet because the Invictus Games were where the couple first made their public debut in 2017. While the duke was expected to be there, the duchess' appearance was a surprise.
This Saturday, Meghan Markle surprised many by attending a baseball game in London. Her husband, Prince Harry, was expected to be there, but Meghan's appearance was a surprise! The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox faced off in the first of two Major League Baseball games across the pond in support of the Invictus Games.
The Invictus Games Foundation is an international charity that Prince Harry cofounded in 2014. The MLB game at Olympic Park in London helped raise money for the main Invictus Games events where wounded service members compete in various athletic activities.
The Invictus Games holds a special place in Harry and Meghan's relationship. Aside from Harry being a founding patron of the charity, the Invictus Games were where Harry and Meghan made their public debut as a couple in 2017. They met around the time of the event a year prior.

The two began their day by meeting each team in their clubhouses prior to the game. Each of the teams sweetly gifted Harry and Meghan with onesies just for baby Archie. The sweet gesture lit up the new parents' faces.
It's probably a bit early to tell whether Archie will gravitate toward the classic British sports that Harry grew up with or some old-fashioned American ones. Still, he's been celebrated by two of the biggest teams in the MLB, which makes him the coolest nearly 2-month-old out there.
While meeting with the Red Sox, Meghan also had the chance to meet a distant relative. Mookie Betts, a Red Sox outfielder, explained to Meghan that they are genetically linked by some relatives a few hundred years back.
After meeting the teams, Meghan and Harry continued on to a reception with former Invictus competitors and their families. The two spent a lot of time catching up with the attendees.
Harry and Meghan then took the field with the competitors. Two of the former Invictus competitors received the honor of throwing the first pitch. One threw to the Yankees' CC Sabathia, while the other threw to the Red Sox's Chris Sale.

Harry and Meghan stayed to take in the game. They watched the Yankees beat the Red Sox 12-8 in a very high-energy, high-scoring game. It was a successful outing for all and a big help to the Invictus Games.
This outing won't be Meghan's only one this summer. A source has told Entertainment Tonight that Meghan is likely to attend Wimbledon in support of close friend Serena Williams. Meghan attended last year with Kate Middleton.
That's not all the Sussexes have in store this week. Town & Country reports that the couple will also have a private christening for Archie at Windsor Castle's private chapel on July 6 with close family and friends.
Although there have been no announcements indicating that Meghan is through with maternity leave, it wouldn't be unheard of for the duchess to end her maternity leave early. Kate Middleton's maternity leaves have spanned as little as five and a half weeks and as long as six months.
The royal family usually tries to relax during the late summer and early fall. The Queen typically takes off to Balmoral Castle in mid-July and stays through late October. That said, Harry and Meghan have some big plans in store for the fall.
Harry and Meghan will embark on a royal tour of Africa that will take place in the last two weeks of October. It will be the first tour that they take baby Archie on. He will be nearly 6 months old when it happens.
