Prince Harry Arrives In London Amid Reports Charles Has ‘No Plans’ To See Him

Prince Harry has reportedly landed in London! The former senior royal is in town for the unveiling of a statue of Princess Diana, which will take place on July 1.

Sources indicate that the trip will be relatively short. Harry is required to quarantine for five days ahead of the event and is expected to return back home to California quickly.

The statue was commissioned by Harry and his brother, Prince William, and the unveiling will take place at the Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace. Harry and William will reunite for the first time since Prince Philip's death, but what's unclear is whether or not Harry will see his father, Prince Charles.

Princes William and Harry announced plans for the statue in August 2020 in a joint statement:

"The statue that Prince William and Prince Harry have commissioned to commemorate their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, will be installed next year on what would have been her 60th Birthday."

The statement continued: "The statue was commissioned to mark the 20th anniversary of her death and recognize her positive impact in the UK and around the world.

"The statue will be installed in the Sunken Garden of Kensington Palace on 1st July 2021, marking the Princess’s 60th birthday. The Princes hope that the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on their mother’s life and her legacy."

The statue will be installed in the same area where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's engagement photos were shot. The pair lived at Kensington Palace before moving to Frogmore Cottage, and it's understood that Harry will be quarantining at Frogmore.

Meghan Markle elected not to travel with Harry, which makes sense: She just had a baby, and the health crisis is showing no real signs of abating. It also seems that there's another important family member Prince Harry won't be seeing: his father, Prince Charles.

In fact, British publications are insisting that Prince Charles has no plans to even be in the same country as his youngest son this week. According to Page Six, a source told The Sun, "Charles has made it quite clear he will not be around … because he is going to Scotland. There is no planned meeting between the three of them."

Another source also implied that there may be no great show of union between Harry and William. "The boys will walk out together out of respect for their mom," the source noted, but they are each expected to deliver their own speeches. It also seems that they haven't been communicating much at all.

The source added, "There have not been any personal chats or proper talks, just a very brief and minimal exchange of text messages. The relationship is still very much strained and there’s no sign yet that there will be any sort of coming together any time soon."
