Prince Harry Says He ‘Can’t See A World’ In Which He’d Bring Meghan And Kids Back To UK

In a recent conversation with the BBC from California, where he now resides with his family, 40-year-old Prince Harry was very clear about his thoughts on the future of his family within the royal family.

“I can’t see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point, and the things that they’re going to miss is, well, everything you know,” the Duke of Sussex said during the interview. All this after he lost a challenge he presented to a Court of Appeal about his security while he was in the UK. The appeal came after Harry and Meghan Markle famously left the UK and relocated in Canada and later in California after leaving behind their senior royal duties and titles.

After the case, he opened up to the BBC and said it would be “impossible” for him to go back with his family to Britain and not be worried about their safety.

“I love my country I always have done, despite what some people in that country have done,” he told the British outlet. “I miss the UK, I miss parts of the UK. Of course I do. And I think that it’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.”

During the interview he revealed that many things make him feel unsafe about going back to his homeland: : “I would not have taken this this far if I did not have compelling evidence of facts that reveal why the decision was made and I am sitting here today talking to you, where we have lost the appeal, but the other side have won in keeping me unsafe, so again there is a lot of question marks that a lot of people will have.”

The heartfelt interview with the BBC also brought up another point: The fact that Harry hasn’t spoken to his dad in quite some time. His father, King Charles, “won’t speak to me because of this security stuff.” However, he didn’t want to continue fighing anymore since he does “not know how much longer my father has.”

According to The Guardian, the Royal establishment commented on Prince Harry’s loss in the courts:

We are pleased that the court has found in favor of the Government’s position in this case and we are carefully considering our next steps,” the spokesperson said. “It would be inappropriate to comment further. The UK government’s protective security system is rigorous and proportionate.”

Harry vows to continue his life of service, however. “I will continue on with a life of public service,” he told the BBC. “So I will always support the charities and the people that mean so much to me.”
