Ree Drummond is thankful that her family members will be OK. Following the accident that injured her husband, Ladd Drummond, and nephew Caleb Drummond, Ree has gotten an outpouring of support.
She's thanking fans for their love and prayers as the dust begins to settle. Ree is also updating concerned fans about how Ladd and Caleb are doing.
Both men were driving fire trucks during a storm. Due to low visibility from gravel kicked up from the road, the two men couldn't see each other coming from opposite directions. The vehicles collided head-on, with Caleb being thrown over 70 feet. Neither was wearing a seat belt.
Ree Drummond's family is thankful to be recovering after a terrifying incident near their farm. On Wednesday afternoon, Ladd Drummond, Ree's husband, and her nephew Caleb Drummond were each driving a Himmat Fire Truck. The two were prepared to respond to some local fires when the accident occurred.
Fires in the area have been plentiful since windy conditions have dominated this week. The two were responding to a fire and driving in opposite directions down a gravel road.
"Due to high winds on a gravel road, visibility was decreased causing Vehicle-1 and Vehicle-2 to hit head-on," authorities explained, per Fox 23.
Neither Ladd nor Caleb were wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision. As a result, Caleb was thrown from his vehicle approximately 70 feet. Ladd refused medical attention at the scene, while Caleb was airlifted to a hospital for treatment. News reports indicate that Ladd was also later airlifted to a hospital.
It's been two days since the accident. Ree is sharing an update with fans, who have shown an outpouring of support and offered prayers for the two men's safety and healing.
"I want to thank you all for your prayers for our family," Ree shared in an update on Facebook.
"Caleb and Ladd are in the hospital, but we think they will both be okay," she continued.
"As a family we are giving thanks today, knowing things could have been much worse. Thank you all for your love and kindness. It means a lot. ❤️."
Caleb reportedly sustained head, internal trunk, arm, and leg injuries. It may be a long road to recovery, but he has many supporters rooting him on. Fans will keep their eyes peeled for another update as they continue sending well-wishes the Drummond family's way.
