If you've been married for many years, then you can understand how hard it would be to be separated from your significant other for a few days or so.
But imagine those days turning into months, and the thought is bound to make you sad. You may wish to never spend time away from your significant other again.
Anita and Wolfram Gottschalk made headlines around the world when their granddaughter, Ashley Bartyik, snapped a photo of them tearfully saying goodbye.
The couple, married for 62 years, was forced to spend time apart in different elderly care facilities, because the level of care each one required was different. Wolfram, who suffers from dementia, had different needs than his wife, and therefore could not be placed in the same home as her.
They cried every time they saw one another, and spent a total of eight months apart. Until now.
Ashley witnessed, and caught on camera, her grandparents' tearful reunion. Her grandfather's eyes light up upon seeing his wife, who tenderly kisses him.
The couple won't be able to sleep in the same bed, or in the same room, but they will at least be under the same roof and be able to share their meals. And with Wolfram's dementia worsening, they deserve to spend every moment they can together.
Please SHARE if you're glad Anita and Wolfram could be reunited, and if you think their love is a reminder of what really matters in life!
