Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams just got married!
The couple have been happily together for years, but they finally tied the knot.
Sarah, 31, who starred on the hit comedy Modern Family, was crushing hard on Wells after watching him as the adorable bartender on Bachelor in Paradise. In 2016, they started flirting on social media. The following year, they met and quickly fell into a full-blown relationship.
Sarah was into Wells when he appeared on JoJo Fletcher's season, too. But after seeing him on Bachelor in Paradise, it seemed like her feelings only grew. By 2017, they were fully in relationship mode, dressing up together for Halloween as characters from Stranger Things.
The couple have never had a problem flaunting their love on social media. Practically since they started spending time together, they've been sharing the adventures with the world. And it seemed clear from early on that they were really in love. Wells planned a week-long birthday celebration for Sarah at Disneyland during the first year of their courtship. By that Christmas, they were decorating their first tree together.
The couple got engaged in the summer of 2019. Wells popped the question after two years of dating. They planned a 2020 wedding, but the health crisis kept pushing the date back. It seemed clear that the two were anxious to tie the knot. In August 2021, Wells told People that if they couldn't have a wedding soon they were "gonna go to Vegas or the courthouse."
"We were supposed to get married obviously last year, that didn't happen," he said. "We were supposed to get married this year, that didn't happen … 2022 has got to be our year, right?"
Last month, Sarah opened up to People about what the day would be like. "We are practical," she said. "We own a house together. We have our dogs together, and we've been celebrating this journey of life supporting one another for almost five years now. So I don't think a lot is going to change."
Finally, the couple got their wedding. While we don't have a ton of details about the event, we know Sarah's Modern Family costars were there. Sofía Vergara shared snaps on social media from the event, including a photo booth pic with Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Justin Mikita, and Nolan Gould. She captioned it “#sarahandwells wedding.”
