Bring us the children!
Sarah Jessica Parker's teenage twin daughters made a rare appearance at the premiere of Hocus Pocus 2 on Tuesday. The girls accompanied their mom and father Matthew Broderick on the red carpet and even posed for a few photos.
It's a special treat when Sarah brings her children into the public eye, as she and husband Matthew have mostly kept them out of the spotlight.
Tabitha and Marion, now both 13 years old, wore stylish dresses and brightly colored heels to match the magical purple and pink theme of the premiere.
This is the first time we've seen the girls posing with Sarah since 2018, when they attended the New York City Ballet Spring Gala at Lincoln Center at 8 years old.
In June, Sarah's 19-year-old son James also accompanied her to a NYC event and attended the And Just Like That premiere in December 2021.
Sarah bringing her daughters to this premiere is fitting, as it's a special one. Sarah Jessica Parker will be reprising her role as Sarah Sanderson, the child-hungry witch, 19 years after the original Hocus Pocus was released.
Starring alongside Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy, Sarah will bring the magic back to this spooky children's film, which now features three teenage girls.
The movie will follow the three witch sisters in modern-day Salem, where they awaken after three new teens have lit the black flame candle.
While the witches adjust to their new surroundings and new flying equipment (spoiler: there is a Roomba) the girls must figure out how to stop the witches before it is too late.
One surprising fact about Sarah Jessica Parker? While some of us have seen the original Hocus Pocus dozens of times, Sarah claims she has only seen the movie once.
“I’ve only seen the first movie once in my life,” she dished to Entertainment Weekly.
Sarah began filming for Hocus Pocus 2 almost immediately wrapping And Just Like That.
Sarah explained to Entertainment Weekly that finally sitting down to rewatch Hocus Pocus helped her get back into character after she wrapped up playing Carrie Bradshaw in And Just Like That.
In a surprise turn of events, she started filming the movie the next day after rewatching it.
“I wasn’t supposed to start shooting, but there was a big weather issue so we changed the schedule, and I was on camera the next day,” she said.
“Of course, you’re not alone; you’re working with two other gifted comedians," Sarah said of her Hocus Pocus co-stars Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy.
"Who are also recalling, remembering, and figuring out: Who are we? What do we do? How do we work together? That came back strangely quick.”
You can follow Sarah's lead and make a Hocus Pocus 2 viewing a family affair. The movie will premiere on the streaming service Disney Plus this Friday, September 30, and is the perfect way to set the mood for spooky season.
