Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost are adding to their family! The 39-year-old actress is reportedly pregnant, according to multiple sources who've spoken to Page Six.
"Scarlett is actually due soon, I know she and Colin are thrilled," one stated. Another source confirmed, stating, "Scarlett is pregnant but has been keeping it very quiet. She has been keeping a very low profile."
Low profile has been the tone of their entire relationship. Scarlett reportedly met Colin while appearing on Saturday Night Live, where Colin has worked for several years.
The first impression that Colin made on Scarlett is something she'll remember forever. "He was in there partly directing this segment we had to do," she told The Hollywood Reporter back in 2019. "That's my first memory of him. He seemed very confident at the time. I don't know if he felt that way, but in that environment, if you're not confident as a writer, your stuff just never gets produced."
The couple were official in 2017, after several people saw them kissing in public. Colin was also finally open to talk about his relationship when asked, and he was nothing but positive. The two announced their engagement in May of 2019.
Some fans felt like Scarlett might be pregnant based on the fact that she hasn't been quite as visible to promote the Black Widow movie, which she stars in and also helped produce. When she has done any promoting, it's through Zoom — and the camera has focused on her from the shoulders up, hiding any hint of a bump.
Someone from the Hamptons also talked to Page Six about how Scarlett hasn't been out as much as usual. "Scarlett usually spends a lot of the summer out in Amagansett and Montauk, and you’d often see her walking her dogs on the beach or getting coffee," the source said. "But this summer it seems like she is deliberately trying to keep a low profile."
Colin hasn't been shy about stating his feelings. In fact, he's more or less said that Scarlett has been the love of his life. And Scarlett has returned the favor. While hosting Saturday Night Live, she closed out the show by saying, "I just want to say that this place means so much to me. I have so many friends here, and I met the love of my life here."
The two got married in October 2020 in Palisades, New York, according to The Knot. The ceremony itself was very small, both for an intimate vibe and for the safety of their guests. "We wanted it to feel like it had an intentional intimacy as opposed to being something that felt like we were restricted by all these things," Scarlett said.
They shared the news in a charitable way — by letting Meals on Wheels announce it first. "We're thrilled to break the news that Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost were married over the weekend in an intimate ceremony with their immediate family and love ones, following COVID-19 safety precautions as directed by the CDC," the organization wrote on Instagram. "Their wedding wish is to help make a difference for vulnerable older adults during this difficult time by supporting @mealsonwheelsamerica."
This is the first child for Colin and the second for Scarlett, who has a 6-year-old daughter named Rose with ex-husband Romain Dauriac. Scarlett and Romain were married from 2014 to 2017. Much like with Colin, Scarlett initially kept the nuptials a secret from her fans.
Scarlett has had more high-profile celebrity romances than Colin. Aside from Romain, she was also briefly married to Ryan Reynolds well before Ryan started dating his current wife, Blake Lively. Scarlett and Ryan were married from 2008 to 2011.
Scarlett admits that she was very young the first time around. "I mean, the first time I got married I was 23 years old," she said, per Elle. "I didn't really have an understanding of marriage. Maybe I kind of romanticised it, I think, in a way." It seems as if the split was mutual.
But it seems like Scarlett is very happy with Colin — and surely, the third time's a charm. It's safe to say that fans might not know too much about the baby once it arrives. Not only does Scarlett lack an Instagram account, but she seems to try hard to preserve her private life.
As for Colin, surely he'll be able to adapt to the crazy night schedule that babies often bring. He's got a lot of practice staying up late for Saturday Night Live, so he's already somewhat prepared. Their child will be quite lucky to have these two lovebirds as a mom and dad.
