Scout Willis is thanking fans of her father for their support following the family's shocking announcement just days ago.
Scout — along with mom Demi, stepmom Emma, and sisters Rumer, Tallulah, Mabel, and Evelyn — recently announced that Bruce Willis is living with aphasia. The condition impacts cognitive functions, primarily those that control communication. As a result of the illness advancing, Bruce and his family have decided stepping back from his storied decades-long acting career is what's best for his health.
There's been an outpouring of love and respect for Bruce and his family since the announcement was made. Scout is now telling fans how much that has meant to them during this difficult time.
Scout Willis is sharing her gratitude for the outpouring of support her family has received in recent days. Ever since announcing that dad Bruce Willis would be stepping away from acting due to an aphasia diagnosis, there has been nothing but love and support for her family.
"Yesterday was so surreal, sharing something so personal," Scout captioned an Instagram post where she shared a photo of her and Bruce cuddling in a chair.
"I didn't know how it would be received, there is always an unknown when sharing out so vulnerably into the world," she continued.
"I'd hoped for some love and compassion, I truly NEVER could have anticipated the depth and breadth of the love we received as a family yesterday. It kept hitting me yesterday how much love, energy, and prayers were now being sent to my daddio and just humbling me in a way that's brings tears as I write this."
"I am so grateful for your love, I'm so grateful to hear about what my papa means to you," she concluded.
"Thank you so much to everyone who reached out to me yesterday, i love and I appreciate you with all my heart, it's gonna take me a whole to respond to your messages!"
Scout's message was shared by older sister Rumer. Younger sister Tallulah and mom Demi Moore have yet to comment any further since the statement was shared. Bruce's current wife, Emma Heming Willis, posted a quick message to her Instagram story to thank fans as well.
"Your love, support, compassion, and prayers really help. I'm grateful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
