Shawn Johnson East is now a proud mom of two!
Shawn and husband Andrew East shared news of their baby boy's arrival on Tuesday morning. The couple found a cute way to share the news with fans, with the release of a limited-edition onesie celebrating their little boy's arrival on the website for their children's brand, Teddy & Bear.
Fans have been excitedly checking for the onesie for days. Early Tuesday, both Shawn and Andrew shared that they had "exciting news to share" on their Instagram story, linking to the onesie.
On Teddy & Bear's Instagram story, they shared the great news. "We're so excited," the first slide read.
"We're so excited to announce a new friend is here!" the next one said.
On another slide, they shared that both Shawn and the baby boy, whose name has not been revealed, are doing well.
"Mom and baby are doing well and we can't wait to meet our new friend!"
Shawn and Andrew, who have been married since April 2016, have been very open about their journey to building their family. Their first pregnancy ended in miscarriage in October 2017. They opened up in a vulnerable way in a YouTube video on the subject soon after.
"Our miscarriage back in 2017, it was the first time I ever felt super vulnerable," Shawn told Good Morning America.
"I didn't know who to go to or who to talk to or how to heal. So I ended up going to social media. I needed someone to respond to me and say, 'It's going to be okay, I went through this as well.'
"And to see the thousands and thousands of women that came forward and just said, 'I went through this. I'm struggling through this. Thank you, I felt so alone until now' — I felt the same way, and it was the only way I healed."
Shawn and Andrew announced they were expecting again in April 2019. Daughter Drew Hazel East was born on October 29, 2019. Now 20 months old, she is excited to welcome her little brother into the family.
Shawn and Andrew announced the pregnancy news in January. Later that month, Shawn would reveal she battled COVID-19 early in her pregnancy. Now the new mom of two is excited to have her baby boy here and begin the next stage of their lives.
"We are so happy to welcome our little man into the world," she told People.
"We are loving life as a family of four and soaking up every minute."
