When Ethan Fenton, 5, was playing soccer in the garden outside his family home with his younger brother, a bully came up to poor Ethan and knocked him to the ground.
Ethan's mother, who was watching the boys from inside the house, saw the commotion and came running to help. Just when she was only a few steps away, she saw the family cat named Smudge come running out from under a car and pounce on the bully's chest!
According to Ethan's mom, the bully was so shaken up by the attack that he ran away crying.
Smudge's act of keeping guard is far from over, ever since the incident, this heroic kitty has slept outside Ethan's bedroom door every night.
