What started out as a speech for nursing students turned into something completely unexpected for Courtney Pittman.
Shot in Fairfield County, South Carolina, the video below shows a small gathering of nursing students at the Fairfield Career and Technology Center.
Courtney thought she was there to shed some light on nursing practices and lend her insight to students who might want to learn something new. She had no idea there was another reason everyone had gathered there.
The students who arrived to hear her speak were actually secretly clued into a perfectly-planned surprise. They had been recruited by Courtney's boyfriend, Jason Wages, a teacher at the center, to help him pull off the surprise.
In the video, Courtney stands facing a group of students with her back to a balcony above.
When one of the students said, "I have one last question," and pointed up at the balcony, Courtney had no choice but to turn around.
She turned to look. Some students had been up there the entire time, ready to lift up a huge white banner which had "Will you marry me???" written on it!
As she was distracted with the balcony, Jason crept forward in front of her.
