Mom Who Struggled To Get Pregnant Breaks Down When Surrogate Delivers Daughter

When Amy Cameron delivered newborn Julie into the world, she promptly handed the bundle of joy over to another woman sitting in the room.

That woman was Hilde Reva, who, with her husband, Christian, has struggled over the past eight years to become a mom. After treatment for cervical cancer left her unable to carry a child herself, and with Norway, their home country, strictly forbidding surrogacy, Reva wasn't sure she'd ever see the day when she held a baby of her own in her arms.

Luckily, a friend who dealt with similar setbacks got her in touch with Cameron, who lives in Canada and has delivered four other babies for couples on top of six of her own children.

As you can see in the video, emotions were understandably high when Julie finally made her first appearance. You can so clearly feel the gratitude written all over Reva's face as Cameron hands her the sweet child.

And Cameron doesn't intend to stop helping couples in need anytime soon. She describes the ability to provide such a beautiful gift to parents as "magic," and I have to say I agree. She receives no payment for the pregnancies, only that which covers the medical expenses.

Of course, others are baffled by her ability to "give up" a child, but as she explains to CBC News, Cameron sees it as "giving back."
