Sylvester Stallone And Jennifer Flavin’s Divorce Is Only Getting Weirder And More Detailed

Sometimes looks can be deceiving. A couple that appears to have it all together might be having issues behind closed doors. This was the case for Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Flavin.

Just three months ago, the couple celebrated their 25th anniversary. They both posted lovely tributes to each other on Instagram to mark the occasion. On August 19, 2022, the couple filed for divorce at a Palm Beach, Florida, courthouse. This shocked many of their fans, friends, and admirers.

A source close to the couple spoke to People magazine to shed some light on this situation. They claimed that Sylvester and Jennifer "are very different people, age-wise and in temperament." Sylvester is 76 years old, while Jennifer is 54.

These fundamental personality differences caused tension. It is true that opposites attract, but sometimes that attraction fades. The source went on to say that “what was once exciting and challenging is now routine and irritating."

Sylvester tends to be impulsive and impetuous. Jennifer tends to think things through more. This caused problems. The source stated, "He tends to do things on a whim without asking her before.”

A good example of this was Sylvester’s recent purchase of a new dog, a Rottweiler named Dwight. Sylvester told TMZ that Jennifer and he did not see eye to eye about the new dog. Sylvester also said that this was not the main cause of the divorce.

According to the source, there is not one main cause for the split but many little ones. They mused that "disagreements on little things add up after so many years together." Another source agrees with this theory. They had previously told People, "It really wasn't just one issue that made her file for divorce. They have had lots of issues for years and she just had enough."

When filing for divorce, Jennifer accused Sylvester of "intentional dissipation" of marital assets. This basically means that a spouse depletes or wastes marital assets which in turn has a negative impact on the overall value. Jennifer asked the courts that "the Husband should be enjoined from, selling, transferring, assigning, encumbering, or dissipating any assets during the pendency of these proceedings." Jennifer also asked for sole use of the couple’s $35 million Palm Beach house.

Sylvester is fighting back. He denies Jennifer’s claims. Court documents filed by the actor counterclaim that he "has not engaged in any conduct which constitutes intentional dissipation, depletion and/or waste of marital assets." Sylvester is also fighting Jennifer for sole use of the house.

Sylvester and Jennifer first met back in 1988 at a Beverly Hills restaurant. They dated on and off in the '90s. Sylvester once broke up with Jennifer in a handwritten letter he sent via FedEx. He had an affair with supermodel Janice Dickinson and thought he might be the father of her child. Turns out, he was not.

After that drama, the couple eventually found their way back to each other. They had their first daughter, Sophia Rose, in 1996. They were married in 1997. Sylvester and Jennifer share three daughters: Sophia, 26; Sistine, 24; and Scarlet, 20.
