Baby Kelcey was born a healthy, normal newborn — but her recent delivery was anything but traditional.
For years, Kelley and Aaron struggled to conceive a baby. After suffering three miscarriages, the couple was exhausted, frustrated, and disheartened. And that's when Kelley's 53-year-old mother, Tracey, did something incredible.
In a story that's now going viral, Tracey volunteered to be her daughter's surrogate. It was something the mother-daughter duo from Texas had joked about from time-to-time. Only now, it was an unexpected reality. In April of 2015, Tracey became pregnant with one of her daughter's embryos leftover from Kelley and Aaron's last round of IVF. Mom and daughter attended every single doctor's appointment together, completely intwined in the entire pregnancy.
Kelley, 28, remained right by Tracey's side in the delivery room as the amazing grandmother gave birth to her own granddaughter. Baby Kelcey was delivered via C-section at the Medical Center of Plano weighing 6 pounds, 11 ounces. The family attributes the successful pregnancy to their positive attitude, strong family dynamic, and faith in God.
