Old age is one of the inevitable realities of life.
Lots of us don’t necessarily look forward to it, but as the golden years start piling up, you learn that there are lots of wonderful things to enjoy about being more seasoned — like having the confidence to share your beautiful poetry with the world like this 92-year-old firecracker!
Of course, the other great advantage of old age is the sense of humor that comes with it. If you can’t laugh at yourself, what can you do?
After all, you don’t have to necessarily enjoy growing slightly deaf, or forgetting you have your glasses on your head, but all of these little foibles are much more bearable when you can laugh at them.
That’s why we’re such fans of a hilarious joke that’s been circulating for years. It does an excellent job of showing that growing older doesn’t mean you have no sense of humor!

“Three sisters age 92, 94, and 96 live in a house together.”
“One night the 96-year-old draws a bath, puts her foot in and pauses.”
“She yells down the stairs, 'Was I getting in or out of the bathtub?'"
“The 94-year-old yells back, 'I don't know, I'll come up and see.' She starts up the stairs and pauses, then she yells, 'Was I going up the stairs or coming down?'"
“The 92-year-old was sitting at the kitchen table having tea and listening to her sisters.”
“She shakes her head and says, 'I sure hope I never get that forgetful.'"
“She knocks on wood for good measure."
"She then yells, 'I'll come up and help both of you as soon as I see who's at the door.'"
