Marissa Meizz recently moved from California to New York City. She quickly fell in with a group of women at her job and was excited to have a new group of friends to help her adjust to life in Manhattan.
Then one day, a man named Drew Harding was taking a walk through the park on his lunch break when he happened to overhear two women talking about a birthday party they wanted to reschedule — just so that their "friend" Marissa wouldn't be able to attend.
Though Drew had no clue who Marissa was, he instantly felt for her; clearly these were not the friends she thought they were.
So Drew turned on his camera and started filming live on TikTok in an effort to warn Marissa, whoever or wherever she was, about the fact that her friends were talking badly about her behind her back.
"I hate to be the one to stick my nose where it doesn't belong," he began. "I need to tell you that the weekend you're away is not the only time they can do their birthday party. They are choosing to do it the weekend you're away."
Drew's video went viral, and soon millions of people were desperately trying to track down Marissa.
