Jenny Long says she had hoped her sons would get along and play together, but nothing could have predicted the amazing bond between Cayden, 6, and Conner, 8. The two young brothers have found a love together for competing in triathletes together. Cayden, who has cerebral palsy, is not able to play like a normal 6-year-old, so her oldest son has made in his mission to literally drag his brother along.
Triathlons have given them the opportunity to build the relationship they’ve longed for. Jenny said she sensed her oldest son Conner was sad he couldn’t play with his brother like other siblings, but now the brothers run, swim and bike completely as one team. Today, Conner refuses to compete without his younger brother.
“I didn’t want Cayden to be left out on the sidelines, because it isn’t fair toward him,” said Conner. Even if the brothers finish last together, they feel like they are always coming in on top. Conner says that his younger brother would be cooped up inside every day if it wasn’t for the races. This is complete proof that anything is possible when you work hard as a TEAM.
