Talk about being at the right place and the right time… and thank God for it!!
Truck driver Kevin Kimmel is being hailed a hero for stopping a heinous crime just in time. While stopping at a New Kent, VA rest stop on a typical work day, he noticed something strange inside an RV parked nearby. He caught a glimpse of a young woman through the window, sitting behind a curtain. She was clearly distraught and possibly in danger.
Kevin walked up to the RV and began knocking on the window. That's when the vehicle started rocking back and forth, and he realized his hunch was spot on.
Investigators arrived at the scene and found a couple and a 20-year-old woman who appeared disheveled and malnourished. She had puncture wounds and burns all over her body.
It turns out that Kevin had just saved an alleged sex-trafficking victim from a potential lifelong nightmare. The victim had been bound, gagged, forced into prostitution, and repeatedly tortured since being abducted by the couple on Christmas Eve.
The cold-hearted couple was arrested and charged with the federal felony offense of sex trafficking.
Kevin only heard the details behind what had happened to the victim he saved through the news. "I’m just happy I helped her," he said.
