When a baby cries, it kind of becomes a guessing game as to what exactly he or she is crying about. Maybe they're hungry or sleepy or cranky. Then it becomes a rush to find out how you can make the baby stop crying! There are endless techniques and strategies to try, but I can honestly say I've never seen someone implement a typewriter before.
Yes, a typewriter. I still remember when I was a youngster and I had my very own typewriter, trying my hand out at writing for the first time.
In the video below, a dad implements the services of a typewriter for the most unexpected reason: to calm his baby son.
The footage, shot in Hays, Kansas, shows the dad sitting down with his little baby on his lap.
He looks up into the camera to acknowledge the frantic cries of his baby, but he casually just whips out his two fingers and starts going to town on the typewriter's keys!
He starts off slowly, but the faster and harder he attacks the keys, the more the baby's cries reduce!
Eventually, the baby turns his head and, with wide, wondering eyes, becomes utterly mesmerized by the tapping of the keys.
He even looks into the camera as if to say, "Whoa, Mom, are you hearing this?!"
