Wanda Mobley, a 75-year0old grandmother is being called a hero. She was stranded in a ravine after her car ran off a road for two days.
While on her way to a family reunion, she swerved to avoid an animal (an admirable choice) and the result was significant damage to the car and herself.
With no food or water, Wanda had to think quickly. How was she going to nourish herself without any resources and no way of knowing if she'd make it out alive?
After hours of being trapped in her car, she noticed one important item: a bottle of Sprite.
“They were in the back seat and I managed to pull one down. I tried to take it easy because I've always heard [that] you don't want to overindulge right after you've been dehydrated like that," she said.
“Just Sprite,” she said. “Even hot, it tasted good,” she added. It seemed that no one was around to help her.
After hearing Wanda's story, I have to say I haven't been this impressed since 74-year-old Jewell Turner managed to fight off a robber who held her at knife point!
"I could hear cars coming, but I couldn't see them," Wanda said. However, when she failed to appear at the reunion, Mobley's family put up missing posters and started a frantic search.
After two whole days, Wanda's grandson discovered her. She heard him call out to her.
“It was a golden voice to me. He's my little golden angel now,” she said.
