When a group of Norwegian students moved into their new shared home, their landlord mentioned there was a mysterious "secret room" somewhere inside — but didn't specify where it was located.
Of course, the students' curiosity got the best of them.
In May 2013, the new tenants blew off their studies to document their search for the hidden room. They uploaded the fascinating results to Imgur.
After hours of searching, they finally discovered the secret space near the back of the dark and dingy attic, but never in their wildest dreams did they expect to uncover such a remarkable time capsule steeped in history.

After moving into their shared house, a group of Norwegian students decided to document their mission to find a secret room of which their landlord spoke.
When they reached the attic, they had a feeling. Upon opening the door, a ladder dropped down and the journey began.
From the outside, it appeared to be a typical attic. Dark and gloomy, but no signs of anything out of the ordinary.
The secret room in question hid behind this wood paneling located towards the back of the attic.
Only when one of the students stretched her legs against the wood panelling did they discover the wall moved — and there was the room. It's said to be a WWII hideout kept hidden behind a wooden panel in the attic for 70 years.
The secret room was so narrow and tiny, it's hard to imagine someone hiding here. But as one online commenter notes, "Rooms this size were often used to hide a lot more people than you would expect. It was probably used by a whole family."
Written in Norwegian, the students found a note that read, "If you have a bad stomach, you do not have access."
They also found an alarm that acted as a warning light. It was wired to the wall.
Torn, tattered maps of southern Britain and northern France hung on the walls.
