She Stuffs 3 Wooden Dowels Into Concrete To Create An Adorably Cheap Stool

Let’s face it, there’s nothing cool about concrete, but if given the right approach, it can be transformed into a chic and modern stool that’s cool enough for a Manhattan loft!

One young lady came up with an inventive DIY project — a concrete bucket stool that’s super easy and super cute. You’ll be surprised at how much of a breeze it is to do! All you need are Quikrete (a quick-drying concrete), a 5-gallon bucket, a bowl, water, and three 16-inch wooden dowels.

First step is scooping up the Quikrete with a bowl and placing it in the 5-gallon bucket. Then you add water, stir the Quikrete, and tap on the bucket with one of the wooden dowels to get rid of any air bubbles. Next, carefully place the three 16-inch wooden dowels inside the bucket.

After letting it set for at least 20 hours, pull on the bucket to separate it from the concrete. (It should pull it out very easily.) Sand any rough edges, and then it’s on to the painting! (Make sure that you cover it up with newspaper before you begin to paint or spray-paint it.) The creative DIY-er in the video decided to use a shiny grayish color and just painted the bottom of the legs to make it more unique and modern.
