Finding cute and easy ways to store kids' toys can transform a nightmarishly messy bedroom into an adorably zen play space.
When Instructables user Amit_Jain's son's toy car collection reached the 150-car mark, he started dreaming up ways to both display and store the entire bounty in one easy-to-reach place.
After cycling through a few ideas, this doting dad decided to build a wall-mounted shelving unit, shaped like a transport truck — an on-theme and super-cute storage solution.
Using plywood, wood glue, a few choice metal brackets, and a whole lot of creativity, this crafty builder pieced his fabulous idea together.
He paid careful mind to outfitting his new shelving unit with enough storage space for each and every car in his son's present collection, while also leaving room for future additions.

Nearly every time Instructables user Amit_Jain's wife ventured out on a shopping expedition, she would return home with a new toy car for their son's growing collection.
Once the collection exceeded the 150-car mark, this father decided to flex his DIY-ing muscles, and build his son a cute storage unit to organize all his toy cars in one place.
He wanted to build a wall-mounted storage unit that could keep the cars tidy and act as an adorable piece of room decor.
He began his build by cutting pieces of plywood into both strips and squares.
This DIY-er glued the squares onto the strips, creating grooves onto which his shelves would later sit.
Once his plywood creations dried, this builder positioned his plywood shelves into the aforementioned grooves, ensuring they were evenly spaced.
Next, he used more plywood to build his creation's truck-shaped facade.
After stabilizing his shelving unit's corners, he began his final assembly.
This DIY-er reinforced his creation's backside, for added stability.
Coated in a few adorably colored stains, this devoted dad's creative shelving unit was complete.
This DIY dad dreamed up and built his son an awesome new truck-shaped toy car storage unit.
