Michelle started off with a wood log, some candles, and decorations like holly, mistletoe and ivy.
She cut all three candles to the same length so that they could be glued to the log.
Using a hot glue gun, she glued all three candles to the log.
To hide the glue, she added some redwood branches, criss-crossing over the base of the candles.
Her Yule log could have stopped there, as it was already adorable — but Michelle wanted to add even more festive touches!
Next, she added some ivy right over top of the redwood.
Festive pinecones were then added on top of the greenery.
Michelle then added sticks of cinnamon, strategically placed to cover up any spots of glue.
And then she added some holly for a bit more red amongst all of the green.
When she was done, Michelle had an adorable homemade Yule log.
When the candles were lit, the Yule log cast a warm and festive glow — and the cinnamon sticks created a wonderful aroma!
Whether used as a centerpiece for a holiday dinner, or just a festive side table addition, this Yule log brings tons of warm Christmas cheer.
And to think this beautiful decoration started as a simple backyard log!
