We often look at tiny homes as truly amazing creative endeavors, but we rarely pull back and examine the individual stories that inspired them. The video you’re about to watch is truly heartwarming.
Jordan Menzel had very, very little money to spend on living quarters while he was trying to get a business off the ground. After a number of parts of his life had begun to crumble, he took on a tedious restoration project as a way to keep himself busy and channel his creativity.
Determined to make his tiny home a reality, he purchased a 1970s Airstream for a fraction of the seller’s asking price, just under $4,000. Tearing out its “weak” cream-colored, retro interior, he completely gutted it and started renovating from scratch.
Menzel estimates that this incredible home is about 30 feet from the hitch to the rear (shorter than the entryway of some traditional homes). And in it, he’s managed to build a home not only for himself, but also his toddler daughter who has her very own sleeping area in the front. Miraculously, he’s managed space for toys, too!
He adds that, as his baby girl grows older, they’ll be exploring new living spaces. But for now, it’s the perfect home for the two of them.
