If you're reading this, chances are you've had a bad hair day or two over the years. A bad hair day can certainly bruise your ego, but putting on a hat or tying your mane up into a pony tail are good temporary solutions.
While there is protocol for a bad hair day, bad skin days are another beast entirely without easy go-to fixes. Unfortunately, it's really tough to completely cover your face without looking like a bank robber.
Of course, makeup is always an option. However, a lot of cover-up products have a way of just irritating problems like zits or dry skin even further.
If you feel like almost every day is a bad skin day, then you are not alone. In fact, a recent study found that women experience an average of 72 bad skin days a year. That is a lot of days, but luckily there are some things you can do about it.

It’s a little shocking to read that as many as 72 days a year will be bad skin days.
Shockingly, that means ladies might spend about a fifth of the year not looking or feeling their best.
Beauty may be skin deep, but the research done by Santex 0% also found that 61% of women admitted that bad skin negatively affects their happiness and well-being on the inside.
Not loving what you see in the mirror is one thing, but letting your appearance get in the way of something like going on a date, or any activity you’d normally do, is definitely when it becomes a problem.
The Sun reports that the study even found 20% of women would do things like avoid seeing their friends, and almost half say they’ve been too “ashamed” to take a selfie.
There is no denying that skin is important. It’s the biggest organ on your body after all, and it’s worth taking care of.
The study found that women are doing this in a rather expensive way.
Allegedly, British women spend around £260 a year on skin products. That’s almost US$350 — and we’re still spending a fifth of that time not loving the skin we’re in.
Moreover, a huge 63% of respondents say that they do worry about the chemicals in the products they are spending so much money on.
If all of the expensive products we use barely work, then what else is there to do to cut down on the 72 days?
Skin expert Abigail James shared some tips that should improve your skin and prevent common issues like acne, dryness, rosacea, and aging.
Abigail's first tip involves using holistic products with the type of ingredients you can actually pronounce.
Oftentimes, less is more when it comes to taking care of your skin.
Her next tips actually improve your skin from the inside out and have nothing to do with topical solutions.
Abigail explains that a diet high in healthy fats, like the ones found in avocado, and low in sugar intake will help see a huge improvement in your skin.
Last but not least, there's exercise to consider.
You’ve probably never thought about how physical activity can help improve your skin, but Abigail claims that the increased blood circulation is the key to keeping your skin (and yourself) healthy and glowing.
