Police in Merced County, California, are asking the public for information regarding four family members, including an 8-month-old baby, who were allegedly kidnapped from a local business.
The Merced County Sheriff's Office shared a news release on October 3 asking for help locating 8-month-old Aroohi Dheri; her mother, Jasleen Kaur, 27; father, Jasdeep Singh, 36; and the baby's uncle, Amandeep Singh, 39, who were reportedly kidnapped from a business in the South Merced area.
Police have released an image of the suspect, describing him as a "light-complected male with a shaved head." According to officials, "he was last seen wearing a hoodie."
Police are now considering the man to be armed and dangerous.
Sheriff Vern Warnke says there is some evidence the alleged offender is covering his tracks.
There is currently no known motive for the kidnapping. Authorities are focused on securing the safe return of the family.
Police are urging the public not to approach the suspect or family, but to reach out to law enforcement with any information about their whereabouts.
"We've got to bring this family home safely," Warnke said.
The family members were allegedly taken against their will from a business in the 800 Block of South Highway 59. The suspect has made no contact at this time and motives remain unclear.
