SuEllen Fried has been coming to the Lansing Correctional facility since 1980. For this 81-year-old grandma, she does not see criminals. She sees people in need of love and wants to help them transform into kinder people.
When she comes to the jail facility, hardened criminals line up to see her just to get hugs. She instantly has a positive effect on everyone. The prisoners say Fried "has that grandmother effect on people," and "just shows that she cares."
Fried currently runs a program called "Reaching Out from Within" and says over 90 percent of the people who attend her meetings when they leave prison do not return.
So why is she so devoted to these criminals? "I am addicted to personal transformations," Fried told CBS News.
