Is there anyone out there who didn't find their parents completely embarrassing as a teenager? We've all been there — and for many of us, it doesn't end. But when we were young, we didn't have social media to worry about when it came to our parents.
It took me a long time to accept my father's friend request, and from time to time I shake my head at his Facebook antics, but this next post proves just how awful some kids have it these days.
Abbie is an 18-year-old who left home because her mom acted more like a teenager than she did. She told Dr. Phil on his show that her mom was never around: "She was out with her friends or with her husband. I never had any boundaries. She never cared what I did. I felt really alone.”
Now Abbie claims that her mom, Rachel, needs to be cut out of her life completely because of her "disgusting" behavior on social media. “My mom dresses like a 16-year-old. She loves to show skin,” Abbie told Dr. Phil. "It’s wrong and it’s disgusting, and I don’t like it.”
No family dynamic is simple, but you have to feel for this young woman. What do you think about this mom's behavior? Has she gone too far?
