Soldier’s Flight Gets Delayed, He Sits In Awe Watching His Daughter’s Birth On FaceTime

On May 5, 2018, Tracy Dover posted a photo of an Army soldier sitting alone on the airport floor. His luggage was by his side and he clutched a cellphone in his hands.

It was clear the soldier was fascinated by what he saw on the screen — and that's when fellow passengers discovered what he was watching: his wife giving birth, in real-time birth, to their daughter.

Brooks Lindsey, from Mississippi, was desperately trying to get home to make his baby's birth once he learned his wife Haley was unexpectedly in labor. Doctors wanted to induce her two weeks early because the baby was showing signs of stress.

But the soldier's flight got delayed, leaving Brooks stranded at the airport. So, his family came up with a solution for the hero who has already sacrificed so much — they FaceTimed the entire birth of baby Millie.

"He was crying and our hearts were breaking," a traveler wrote on Facebook. "We all gave him space. When we heard the baby cry, we all rejoiced for him."

“I wanted to share this because I never want us to forget about our soldiers who serve us everyday and the sacrifices they make.”

And we're happy to report Brooks made it back home to Mississippi that night just in time to hold his daughter on her birthday.
