Eleven-year-old Anicee Lamoreaux has overcome plenty of obstacles. She was born with osteogenesis imperfecta, more commonly known as brittle bone disease, and even the slightest cough can break her ribs. With her parents unable to care for her, she was placed in an orphanage at age two.
She started painting at age three with the help of her caretakers at the orphanage. Finally in 2008, she was adopted by a loving family in Colorado, and Lamoreaux was able to follow her passion for painting. What's even more remarkable is that she is using her undeniable talent to help others.
Most recently, during the Children's Hospital Colorado Gala in October, Lamoreaux auctioned off two of her paintings and was completely shocked when they sold for $50,000 each! She then donated all of that money back to the children's hospital.
